At Ngara Bush- and Life Learning we serve a wide community of neurodiverse and neurotypical people who are looking for a unique approach to healing and learning.

We teach communication, life skills and cognition in a fun, easy and individualized way. In the process people find healing in our natural, pressure free and welcoming environment. Getting to know oneself, own talents, likes and dislikes and thinking about what this can mean for the future as well as learning what is important to live a content life, is what we nourish and foster.

Our natural environment with little sensory triggers and the lovely team, allows everyone to grow and develop without judgment, expectation or pressure. We give our clients and their families the time to learn life skills and whatever is important in their individual journey at their own pace and through laughter, fun and play. We aim to re-engage them with the natural environment and through trust and respect support emotional growth and development.

Even though our sessions are a therapeutic approach, we don’t call it therapy. The sessions are called playdates. With this we are aiming to sett a stress-free environment for children who have made the experience of many therapeutic contexts, in which they were suggested to be not right and needed fixing.

At Ngara Bush & Life Learning the fun is the centre of attention and learning and healing happen by stealth. We also involve the whole family to learn, communicate and grow together as individuals and as a unit.

Part of our team are our animals: horses, goats, rabbits, guinea pics and dogs. Animals and their special abilities to make connection and their non-verbal communication helps to build a bridge over to the relationships and communication with family members and loved ones.

Our horses also provide a special kind of movement with incredible results for our clients ability to communicate, learn and retain information.

Underlying our work are three programs based on one concept:

Movement Method, Horse Boy Method and Athena

Three evidence-based therapy and teaching models by Rupert Isaacson. Rupert developed the models through the experience with his autistic son Rowan and in collaboration with Temple Grandin, psychologists, neuroscientists and adults on the spectrum.

Movement Method is a kinetic learning system that uses the neuroplasticity of the brain to prepare the client for healing and learning. It improves their intrinsic motivation, attention, communication, social interaction and emotional regulation and is based on our natural ability to learn through movement. The method is successfully used in 30 countries in both therapeutic and academic contexts.

Athena is customised for PTSD and trauma. Adults learn to train therapy horses while finding their own healing.

The Horse Boy Method includes the horse as a co-therapist. The horse acts as a companion for emotional support and a provider for movement which reduces stress and anxiety and creates the happy and communication hormone oxytocin. The three methods use our natural ability to learn through movement, teaches in a natural environment and through intrinsic motivation.

People on the spectrum, of other neurodiversity, disabilities or mental health issues often face difficulties in social interaction and communication. Movement Method, Horse Boy Method and Athena show a way to face these challenges and use the benefits for their future.
